Stress-free holidays as an entrepreneur? 5 tips from Moneypenny for you!

1. Identify and delegate tasks before your holiday

Before going on holiday, create a clear overview of all ongoing tasks. Set priorities and decide which tasks you can delegate. Our Virtual Assistants can help with this. They manage your inbox, schedule appointments and handle administrative tasks. This way, important work and communication continue without you needing to stay constantly involved.

2. Availability versus accessibility during your holiday

You can choose to set an out-of-office reply letting people know your VA is monitoring your inbox and will handle or escalate urgent matters. Or you can completely disconnect and have your VA reply to emails directly, using her own “assistant-to” email signature. Either way, everything keeps moving while you’re offline. In advance, we agree on how we’ll work, what the priorities are, and what’s important to you.

3. Clearing out overdue to-dos

Wouldn’t it be great if your VA could finally take care of those little tasks that always fall to the bottom of your list? Think of cleaning up old blog posts on your website, organising your overflowing inbox, or setting up that Calendly link that’s been on your to-do list for months. Your VA can also review admin processes, update the employee handbook, or tackle other tasks that usually get pushed aside. This way, you return from your holiday with a clear inbox and a clear mind.

4. Planning and communication

Create a solid plan for the days just before and after your vacation. Make sure all ongoing projects are up to date and communicate with your team and VA about the current status. Ask your VA to schedule a few catch-up meetings for your return so you can quickly get up to speed on everything that happened while you were away.

5. Let go of work and enjoy

Set specific times when you’re available for urgent matters or when you’ll check in briefly. Or agree on a response time frame for messages that require your attention. Let your team and your VA know your availability. This gives you peace of mind and allows you to fully enjoy your holiday without work stress.
